This was another "whoosh" day with all the little personal projects I had on my plate, and fortunately, I managed to get everything done I wanted, and then some. Thank goodness I decided to get all my mowing out of the way this morning because before noon arrived, I heard there's a 60% chance of rain tomorrow.
I think the botanists with their … continue reading

Between a Bun
Our weather has certainly cooled down in a hurry to where I actually had to turn the heater on in my car this morning as I was traveling to work. But what can we expect when knowing we're on a fast track out of our month of September? It doesn't surprise me in the least when knowing we haven't even had a light frost considering how climate chan … continue reading

They Were Made Believers
The first thing I had to do this morning was to contact several people to get some documents corrected. For the strangest reason, I had a "feeling" there was something wrong, and wouldn't you know it, there was. In spite of my initial anxiety over it all, we did manage to get everything back on track which was all I wanted.
Another block of … continue reading

Nasty Chiggers
I was a bit surprised we didn't get rain last night, but that's fine by me because I think we've had enough for a while. With the wind having changed directions and now coming from the north, I don't think it even broke 70 degrees today. The one positive thing about it being cooler, we weren't being attacked by those nasty chiggers that've returned … continue reading

A Friend In Need
It was an absolutely beautiful morning with the sun shining and pleasant temps, but as the hours passed and the afternoon arrived, I found it getting a bit too warm for my liking. It sounds like we've got another storm coming our way tonight, and let's hope it's not going to be one of those with high winds.
The hours seemed to fly by with all th … continue reading

Drastic Price Reduction
Thank goodness the sun was shining today because I was beginning to wonder if we were entering the realm of Water World. I did look at the weather forecast and it sounds like we may be getting some severe storms beginning late tomorrow, and then another possibility toward the weekend. At least the meteorologists are predicting no vortex conditions … continue reading

Macaroni Sandwiches
Having got myself up and out of the house early, I figured I might as well take in an early church Service. Thank goodness I arrived early enough to find a seat near the rear which for me is always a more comfortable place because I'd rather be looking at the backs of the heads of others instead of all the many more looking at mine.
They were … continue reading

The Acts of a Few
These dark and rainy days are getting to be rather annoying to the point where it's almost like the movie "Ground Hog Day", and you can be sure the temperaments of the general public has been reflective of it. I haven't heard anything to substantiate it, but I'd wager this southerly wind and rain is the by-product of the pounding Texas is getting f … continue reading

Wandering Shamelessly About
Another super-sultry day came and went, and you can believe I was staying out of it as much as possible. While speaking with one of our teachers today, she mentioned how the students were acting up in a fashion as though we were in the midst of a full moon. I did remind her that high humidity does have a negative effect on our younger crowd to … continue reading

12 S. Willowgreen Court
That was some kind of hell-raising storm we had early this morning. It was one more reminder of how living in the "flatlands" gives our wind the ability to blow rain in a horizontal direction instead of straight down. If anyone had a window open last night that was facing westerly, you can be sure they had a big puddle of water on their floors. … continue reading

Into a War Zone
That was quite the rainstorm we had today, and when looking to the west on my way to work, it appeared those ominously dark clouds were on their way here to give us a good pounding, and a pounding we got. They've predicted rain for tomorrow and Friday, and if it's going to be has heavy as today's, I'd say there'll be more mowing in the days ahead … continue reading

All Living Creatures
Another repeat of yesterday happened again, only I believe it broke 90 degrees Downtown this afternoon. Several people mentioned the smell of hog manure in those southern breezes, and for the life of me, I can't imagine where it's coming from. It comes and goes throughout the warmer months, and from how far south is anyone's guess. I actually d … continue reading
