Now some would say the 21st of June is the longest day of the year, while of late, most say the 22nd is the day offering us the most sunlight. Be it yesterday or today, we'll say it's the end point of the earth's two-way dirctional tilting.
Every year when this time arrives, I recall my readings from long ago about the Celtic tribes, the Druids, … continue reading

At Face Value
Most of my day was spent out of the office with clients and customers, and certainly happy to be driving in light rain. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we would have just a nice light shower every day without thunder, lightening, and strong winds? It's finally now starting to feel like summer and here we are at the turning point of the sun's return … continue reading

Belly Laugh
It was nearly another perfect day today in North Iowa to where I said to someone who's nearly always crabby, "How can we not keep from smiling while in the midst of such a beautiful day?" I almost left her speechless until she finally said, "Yeah I guess so but we'll see how long this weather lasts when we wake up one day and find winter breathin … continue reading

Bridge of Stone
In my estimation, I'd say today was about as near perfect a day with the sun brightly shining, the temperatures at moderate levels, and a cool drying breeze from the north to bring our Summer's senses into a near perfect balance.
Perhaps I'm a little more of a fan of these northerly breezes because I know it keeps the humidity down and the mosquit … continue reading

Reed and Spel
Finding the weather today exceptionally pleasant, I decided to spend some hours back at one of my "pet" projects. Of course yours truly forgot the word "stop" until nearly full physical fatigue started setting in. I was happy to get quite a bit accomplished, but was a little upset with myself for not finishing earlier so to enjoy the afternoon … continue reading

The Mulberry Bush
Thank goodness it wasn't raining outside because I had some menial chores to get accomplished this morning before noon arrived. I really don't mind it because it gets me unplugged from thoughts of my regular job.
I found it a bit odd while outside and minding my own business when a woman whom I absolutely did not know, decided to stand at the si … continue reading

The Andy Griffith Show
My morning started a bit earlier with my continued work on several files that are supposed to close next week, along with getting sales numbers together for a closing that will be taking place the week after next. Yes, performing the job of a Realtor is not only dealing with the "nows", but also diligently working on transactions that are going t … continue reading

The Crow King
My day passed quickly, and both closings scheduled took place without the slightest of hitches. One of my dear clients gave me a gift that I'll have to take a photo of and share with you all another day.
Both closings were bittersweet because I got to know the sellers and re-familiarize myself with the buyers whom I've worked with in the past. … continue reading

Weak Excuses
One of the very few times I attend meetings, I found myself compelled to attend to one this morning in hopes I'd learn something along with a little socializing. All went well until one of the speakers mentioned an important survey that went out to the general public. When the time for questions and answers arrived, I couldn't help but speak up … continue reading

Enough of More
Looks like the heat and wind is back at it again after just one partial day of reprieve. I've been empathizing with several of my sellers who're getting themselves moved out of their homes in this heat before their closings take place later this week. All I can remind people is to take it slow and keep ahead of their fluid intake.
Without appe … continue reading

Glorious Minutes
We finally received a bit of a reprieve from the heat with a little bit of the much needed rain we've been waiting for these weeks. Now that we're down to more palatable temps, perhaps the tempers of much of our general public will get cooled off.
I decided to stop at Casey's early this morning for a cup of java, and when pulling up, I noticed a … continue reading

Great Splash
The dry winds we've been getting are starting to show their affect on North Iowa's landscape. The grass has stopped growing, most of the soil is as hard as a rock, and even the trees don't seem to be as full of leaves as years past. I've been really noticing it nearby with three old sugar maples. Their canopies are usually so thick that you c … continue reading
