Well, the wind was back at it again today, and as chance would have it, I happened to read an in-depth article this afternoon which spoke about the advent of changing weather patterns which our world has never before experienced, and from the sounds of it, the biggest concern right now, are the changes that are taking place in the air currents which will have global implications. I’m sure everyone would immediately think about droughts and floods, but the real elephant in the room would be the more regular drastic temperature changes in areas where freezing temps were completely unheard of at a given time of the year. Can you imagine what such changes could possibly do to our fruit and vegetable industries.
My only out of office appointment today happened to be with a couple where I was given my pre-listing tour and subsequent presentation of what I believed their home was worth, and thank goodness I had a very good comparable sale which shared a great many features of their home. They’ve got some prepping to do before I list it, and from the sounds of it, they’ll be calling me in about a week to get it listed and placed out onto the open market. Without a doubt, that meeting with them turned out to be the highlight of my day, and if our market remains as steady as it has been, I dare say it’ll sell relatively quickly.
Having received an email from the Pastor of First Presbyterian Church late yesterday which contained the names of the hymns they want played the first Sunday after Easter, I made sure to stop over to their church later this afternoon, just so I could see the music they want played. After getting them all looked up in their accompaniment books, I now have two more hymns I have to get fully learned before that Sunday arrives. There’s no question I’m growing all the more humble after my having once thought I could play a good seventy-five percent of all standard hymns. Yes, it has become quite an evolution of understanding for me. On a positive note, I dare say my keyboard skills are getting better from all the extra learning and practicing I’ve been doing.
I forgot to mention what I discovered at a showing some days ago, which happened to be a full-sized bed with a vintage chenille bedspread on it. Oh did I ever get a number of flash-backs to the past, because those bedspreads were exceptionally popular back when I was young, and if a family happened to have them on their beds, it was definitely a sign of being just a cut above the norm. Just out of curiosity, I happened to look online to see if they still sell them, and wouldn’t you know, they’re still offering all shapes, designs and sizes, so perhaps chenille bedspreads are coming back in style. Gosh, it’s been years since I’ve seen one of them.
When reading the news today, I got a bit of a shocker when seeing the bond market has drastically changed, and definitely not for the good of our economy, because when the interest rates on bonds go up, the mortgage rates follow suit, and what was the most disturbing, was hearing that if it didn’t settle down, we could be possibly seeing our mortgage rates as high as 10% in the very near future. Can you imagine what negative effect that’ll have on our housing market? Just remember, it’s not always the amount you pay for a home, but rather what your mortgage payment is gonna be. For sure that’ll make our current housing shortage all the worse. No matter what anyone says, it all goes back to of all these crazy tariffs our POTUS is placing on countries, along with trying to bully them it to bowing to his near-daily whims. I’m sorry to say this fight he’s got going with China, is not going to be faring well for all of us. I’m already bracing myself each and every day before it switch on the news feeds.
Tonight’s One-liner is: Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly thru them.
