Today seemed like a repeat of yesterday’s overcast skies and strong wind, which doesn’t make a person feel very much like it’s April. This afternoon’s wind direction was beyond remarkable because it’s almost a straight westerly which is very bad for our old growth trees because they’ve not ‘braced’ themselves against winds coming from that direction, so don’t be surprised if we have toppled trees tomorrow because those gusts have been pretty strong. I also happened to read where several States below us will soon be in the midst of getting hellacious amounts of rain.
The very first item on this morning’s agenda, was to get my new listing at 1153 Eastmoor Drive uploaded and disseminated out into the cyber universe, and not to my surprise, we’ve already had one showing on it today, and another one scheduled for tomorrow. Gosh, they sure don’t build them like they used to, and for sure, anyone who’s into the joys of cooking, would be in 7th heaven while preparing meals in its tricked-out Hickory kitchen.
In between today’s scheduled appointments, I made sure to stop and pay my respects at two visitations which were being held at separate locations. The first one was for a woman I’d come to know who managed to live to a ripe old age of 97, and since I was a bit early, I managed to spend a few more quiet moments alone with her. We became all the closer after having a soulful conversation about some of the mean-spirited things siblings do to each other, and especially when they get the general public involved. She was very good about helping to calm my fury over a certain someone having dropped off a very stupid/silly family history which was filled with many lies and exaggerations.
My second stop, was at the visitation of a retired Realtor who had his own business for a number of years. The main reason I went to that one, was because I’d worked with some of his extended family members, as well as currently working with a sibling who’s still in the business. I was actually there longer than expected, and only because there were other Realtors wanting to chat a bit. I was a little shocked when a sister of the decedent came up to me and asked if I had a sister who was her age because she insisted there was one in her graduating class. When I asked how old she was, I knew exactly who she was talking about. Once I told her my sister’s name, she then confirmed it was her, so I was prompted to bring her up to speed on that particular ‘sib’.
Well, our POTUS came out with his list of tariffs after the market closed this afternoon, so we’ll see how the stock market reacts tomorrow morning. I have to agree with the many economists who’re saying tariffs are a bad thing for the working class, but when you’re in bed with a handful of billionaires, we peons don’t even exist in their world.
I was definitely given a mental lift when hearing that Democrat judge managed to win her seat on the bench of Wisconsin’s Supreme Court. In spite of Musk spending over 20 million dollars to keep her from being elected, she still pulled it off. Thank goodness there are still level-headed people out there who’d vote just the opposite against a candidate who’s been openly funded by a billionaire that’s taken a hatchet to our Federal Government’s agencies. Good for her!
