Alas we've reached the final page of the final chapter of a year which at times seemed to fly by, while others appearing stuck in time and space. There's no question there are many of you who're now recalling some of the past transgressions of others along with memorable happenings which you now wish could be preserved and called upon whenever fi … continue reading

Just forget It!
Thank goodness it wasn't the cold day predicted by our weather forecasters. As I was leaving early this morning, I noticed it was already in the 20's and rising. Finding myself running a bit late for my playing gig, I quickly grabbed my music and headed for the church. For some reason, the person who normally unlocks the church doors at a pre … continue reading

Soon to be Nevermore
I sure wasn't expecting light snow this morning, but at least it did stop before my open house began along with the sun finally coming out just as 1:00 pm rolled around. It was almost like magic it happened in such a way since I did so want the sun to be shining thru those beautiful tall windows at 115 S. Connecticut.
There were far more peopl … continue reading

Conspirators of Pleasure
Ouch! The weather sure turned cold all of a sudden. If it wasn't for the wind, it would've been more tolerable, but those gusts coming from the north were enough to send anyone running for cover. At least we only had a dusting of snow this morning and I hope tonight's snowfall isn't going to be measurable enough to complain about.
While wa … continue reading

Norge
Having been awakened numerous times in the night by the sound of the rain, it came as no surprise to see how much we did get. When driving past creeks and later the Winnebago River, it was a bit scary seeing the water nearing the tops of their banks. Thinking it had finally quit, about an hour later it started back up again.
One of the utili … continue reading

I personally had a good Christmas because it afforded me time for rest and reflection which I believe we all should schedule for ourselves on a regul … continue reading

Christmas Eve of 2018
In spite of most workers being off today, I figured it best to go to the office for at least the morning just in case there were calls, and thank goodness I did, because I had drop-ins and phone calls that I would've missed had I not been there.
Although it was below freezing all day, I'm still thankful the sun was out most of the time which m … continue reading

Your Hidden Sanctuary
Today was a bit quirky for me from the get go due to my not having paid pre-Christmas visits to some near and dear ones which I should have done days ago, but at least I got my act together, made some phone calls, and off I drove.
My first stop was at a home of a familiar whom I've known for many years. I was glad to find her in good spirits a … continue reading

Sacred or Profane
With having early morning duties, I was at the office again all the sooner than normal. It's always kinda creepy cool to be Downtown when there's nay a living soul to be seen or heard. Before I drove to my office, I made sure to go past the site where that historic stone home stood at 130 - 2nd St. NW. Yup. They sure moved quickly on gettin … continue reading
