Rain Without End

Well, it appears we managed to survive last night’s strong winds followed by the hours of rain without end, and according to this mornings weather feeds, we received almost one and a half inches of rain. I’m now wondering how much it’ll end up being once the cloud cover clears. Yes, we definitely needed it for our fields, yards and gardens.

I found out this morning that my recent sale of an out of town property may possibly not go thru, and only because the appraiser had mentioned some deferred maintenance which will have to be addressed before the bank will give a loan on the property, so we’ll soon find out if it ends up falling thru, and if it does, that’ll be a huge chunk of my time sent down the drain.

With it being a semi-slow morning, I decided to run over to Bethlehem Lutheran Church to get a little practicing done, but unfortunately they were having some electrical repairs/improvements being made in the area where their organ is located. At least I was given the opportunity to meet their Pastor who seems like a nice chap.

In spite of having to dodge some raindrops, I managed to get in a showing of a property owned by one of my clients who seemed definitely interested, so hopefully there’ll be a call back for a second look.

My out of town seller called this afternoon to set up a time to get her home listed, so it now looks like I’ll have it plastered out into the cyber universe before Saturday morning. I once again shared my feelings over the positive/marketable features of the home which should help create a quick sale.

My mid-afternoon appointment was with some close relatives of a seller who’s now not able to take care of herself which made it necessary to ship her off to a nursing facility, so now there’s gonna have be some cleaning up and clearing out of her home before we can get it on the market. They were quite surprised when hearing I had that home listed way back when the current owner purchased it. My goodness! How some of these homes make a full circle back to Holtz Realty, is quite remarkable at times.

After a long chat with my dear friend this morning, not so long after hanging up, I began having some mini flash-backs of a number of recent conversations I’d had with people I’ve known for some time, along with those I always consider my ‘first encounters’.

There’s no question in my mind there’s been a noticeable character change in our general public to where those I once considered thoughtful and caring, began evolving into hostile and combative individuals, which more often than not, would trigger a backing away reflex with me, which for most, is about the best way to avoid getting sucked into another’s drama.

Some think it’s a by-product of the pandemic, while others believe it’s the trickling-down of our POTUS’ character traits, but yours truly has come to believe it’s a combination of both with a good measure of anxiety over our future thrown into the mix, and if these are the true reasons, then at least we know what the root causes are.

Now if we look at this in a scientific manner, all we have to do is begin pushing back against those who believe it’s just OK to conduct themselves in such manners, and if enough of us go on the defense, then maybe those troubled souls will finally realize they’ll have to detox their poisoned brains of all those false ideas which had turned infectious, just so they can also return to a state of social acceptance. Yes, it’s time to start pushing back.

I’m sure you’re wondering why tonight’s page is being posted at a late hour. Well, I was compelled to personally attend a City Council meeting which didn’t start until the hour of seven.

Tonight’s One-liner is: Our prime purpose in this life is to help others, and if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.
