Eggs And A Gallon Of Gas

Thank goodness I dressed warmly today because the dampness and wind was making it feel again like I was living in one of those coastal cities on the Baltic Sea where there’s only about three months out of their year where you don’t have to worry about wearing something warm while outdoors. That northeast wind was blowing once again today, so what’s up with that?

My morning went flying by with out of office appointments and follow-up phone calls with clients and customers. I also made time to deliver the results of my extended project which I freely and willingly agreed to do several weeks ago, which was actually a very good learning experience for me, and in the end, I managed to accomplish more than I’d expected.

The buyers I’ve been working with on and off over these recent months, decided to make one final offer on a rickety home they’d fallen in ‘like’ with, so I sent the message on to the listing agent, so we’ll see if there’s any more movement with the sellers. I still can’t believe how blind some of our sellers are when it comes to pricing their homes many thousands of dollars more than they’d ever even come close to getting. I’m also wondering if a few of my competitors are encouraging some of that over-pricing which has been a thorn in my side since the time I started selling real estate, and only because we have clear rules in our State regarding what some refer to as ‘buying’ a listing. Oh well, if they are doing it, then it’s all on them.

Now that we’re entering the warm months of our year, I’ve been placing calls to service providers who’re likely getting booked-up for the summer, so I’m working more diligently at getting what I need done, scheduled early, just so I won’t have to be waiting until summer’s end. Thus far, I already have two scheduled, and hopefully by the end of next week, I’ll be up towards the top on lists of several others.

While I was in Hy-Vee this afternoon, one of the ladies who regularly attends a church I used to frequent on a regular basis, was being a little sarcastic with me regarding what I was buying, how much wealth she ‘thinks’ I have, along with making crazy comments about my vocalizations regarding our current POTUS and his circle of minions. Without going into any great detail regarding my soft ‘kicking-back’, I sternly reminded her that she’d better pay attention to what’s happening in our Federal Government because she may some day find there’ll be no more Social Security deposits made to her account, along with no longer being covered by Medicare. In less 24 hours, she’s the second retired person I’ve spoken to whose head’s buried in the sand, and early next week, I’m nearly convinced I’ll be encountering two more of them. Don’t you sometimes wanna go out into the wilderness and have a good scream over it all?

I had a ‘first encounter’ with an appointment this afternoon which had me a little creeped-out/embarrassed when seeing that person walking into my office, because I was almost convinced it was someone out of my past who decided to drop by unannounced. I’m sure if there were a mouse in the corner taking a video of that meeting, it would’ve been worthy of a YouTube comedy clip. Before my visitor left, I had to deeply apologize for the mix-up. After today, I’m growing all the more convinced there really are doppelgangers wandering about.

While at the groceteria today, I price-checked eggs and still found them hovering around five bucks a dozen, and gas well over three dollars a gallon, so whatever fake news our POTUS is spreading around, is so totally false to the point where it’s beyond comical. Be sure to check his latest comments regarding the price of a dozen eggs and a gallon of gas, and you’ll soon after realize how uninformed and/or un-hinged he truly is.

Tonight’s One-liner is: The ability to interest people in your conversation, and then to hold them, is a great power.
