Loud And Clear

Thinking today was going to be a repeat of yesterday, I made a big mistake by wearing much lighter clothing which had me half-chilled the entire day. I still can’t believe the wind is still blowing out of the northeast, which isn’t a normal direction for our area, and likely why we’ve been getting rain nearly every day.

Most of my morning was taken up with my out of town pre-listing appointment which ended up being the highlight of my day, and only because of how absolutely delightful the owner was who happens to be well into her nineties. I couldn’t have complimented her more over how clean and well taken care of her home appeared, so once the family has it de-cluttered, I’ll be getting that listed. While driving back to the city, I was thinking about how some who’re that close to being a century old, manage to keep their minds and bodies in better shape than those who’re twenty or more years younger. I dare say, attitude and outlook has a great deal to do with it.

I did manage to make it to my Noon appointment on time which was my meeting with a contractor to give me an estimate on some work I’m needing to have done, and since I’ve used his services in the past, I felt the bid he’d given me was more than fair, and especially considering my having received a bid some months ago from a contractor I’d not used before, handing me a bid at that time which was almost double what I received today, so without even thinking twice, I instructed him to go ahead with the job, and thankfully he’ll be able to get started on it sooner than I was hoping. I guess when you treat good contractors with respect and pay them when their jobs are done, they’re more likely to be generous with their time and talents.

My early afternoon appointment was with several semi-distant relatives who were wanting some information on three people they’re more closely related to, and since I’d already copied the documents I had, along with a sheet of information I prepared earlier, they were more than thankful for the extra effort I’d made in helping to answer a few questions regarding their family’s history. My goodness! I couldn’t believe our extended conversation about that branch of my family, lasted well over an hour and a half. Of course one of them immediately recognized the two very old black and white photos of my parents I have hanging on one of my office walls. I couldn’t help mentioning that one of my clients mentioned some months ago, how much my father’s photo reminded him of Clint Eastwood. Of course I still don’t see any resemblance.

With it being a slow day in real estate, I took an hour or so off and drove over to First Presbyterian Church to get a little practicing done before Sunday’s Service. I’m actually glad I did because it’s been well over a month since I played their organ, and as all musicians know, the longer you’re away from an instrument, the more likely you’ll make mistakes. I’ve got all the music I was given fully learned, but I’m still a little concerned over one of them because of the key it’s in and the number of accidentals it contains. Oh well, I’ll be giving it my best shot.

After watching a very interesting video this afternoon, I’m pretty much in agreement with what they were saying the planned end results are going to be in the coming months, which will fall right into the overall plans The Heritage Foundation had set into motion last year with their Project 2025. Well, according to the speaker, our POTUS was elected to be the initial wrecking ball of our democracy, and once Congress has had their fill of his craziness, he’ll get impeached, and then our nefarious Vice President J.D. Vance will step in and continue with finishing up on transforming our Government into something very much un-democratic. After watching that video, I was a bit creeped out because I’ve been thinking for weeks now that J.D. Vance had already been groomed by The Heritage Foundation to be our President once Trump was kicked off his throne.  Hear me loud and clear, if that comes to pass, our Country will be thrown from the frying pan into the fire, and Heaven help us all!

Tonight’s One-liner is: Discouragement, fear, doubt, lack of self-respect, are the germs which have killed the prosperity and happiness of tens of thousands of people.
