Happy Easter For 2025

Well, as the old saying goes, if it rains on Easter, it’ll rain for seven consecutive Sundays afterwards, and I think it came close to that either last year or the year before, so we’ll see what this year brings.

Once I had my Sunday morning private prayer session completed, I changed into my work clothes and proceeded to get some much needed work done which had me engaged nearly the entire day. Considering how miserable the weather was, I’m glad most of what I was involved in, took place indoors. I’m sure after this extended rain, our landscapes will be rapidly greening-up. Today’s storm system appears to be coming out of the east/northeast which is a bit of an odd direction for this time of year.

After my first handful of projects were completed, I took an extended lunch break to have a little something to eat and then get caught up on the news feeds, and of course after reading a few articles regarding what’s been happening in our Federal Government, I’m growing all the more convinced this Administration will go down in history as being America’s first and greatest kleptocracy, and once they’re all voted out of office, let’s hope it’ll be the last.

There was some additional news about Russell Vought whom I see as the person who’s steering our POTUS’s boat when it comes to carrying out Project 2025. Well, he’s already admitted being a Christian Nationalist, which goes completely against the grain of our many mainline communities of faith here in America, and since I’ve been hearing some of their Scriptural reasons for doing and saying what they’re doing, I’ve been fact-checking as much as I can, and believe me, they’ve definitely created their own Christian playbooks. My gosh! I can’t believe how many polluted versions of the Bible you can get your hands on in these times, which I find not only troubling, but a bit scary.

The bulk of my afternoon was spent over at my extended project, and as of today, I can proudly announce that I’m completely finished with that many months-long stripping project I so freely decided to take on. All I can say is, “Never again will I take on something that daunting!” But on a positive note, I also had time to continue on with my stripping of that 100+ year old wardrobe which was originally purchased at Mier Wolf and Sons here in Mason City. It’s actually a bit of a fun project because the varnish on it was about as black as could be to where a person couldn’t even see what type of wood it was constructed out of. I did discover the entire front including the two doors and two bottom drawers, were constructed out of oak, while the sides were of a softer wood, which was telling me it must’ve been one of the cheaper models they were selling at the time. It’s going to be modified to where the rod for hanging clothes will be taken out, and that space will have two shelves installed, and only because it would make more sense to use it to store folded clothing instead of hanging. Keep in mind, going far back over 100 years ago, many of the cheaper houses didn’t have closets, so they basically used those wardrobes as moveable closets. We must remember, even kitchens in those times didn’t have built-ins. My how times have changed and spoiled we’ve become.

I did manage to take a photo this morning of a Magnolia tree in bloom, just to let you all know Spring is here, and an even better way to say, “Happy Easter for 2025”. Truth be told, today didn’t feel anything like the Easters of years past, but it’s to be expected since all my old ones are dead and gone. I’ll continue to turn on those news reels of mine, just so I can relive those many pleasant events. Of course I’ve long ago expunged from my reels, a number of those who’re not worthy of any sort of remembrance on my part, and especially one particular vile bipolar creature who purposely destroyed a family legacy. Oh well, life goes on while karma continues to watch and wait.

Tonight’s One-liner is: We must continually work at being larger than our tasks.
