Not Entirely The Person

When I went outdoors this morning, I instantly knew without looking that it got below freezing last night, and only because the air was calm yet biting. Yes, the rooftops and car windows I passed were all coated with a frosty glaze.

When I arrived at office, the first thing on my list, was to deliver one of my freshly picked Buttercup squash to my dear friend, along with a handsome bunch of freshly dug carrots which she was also happy to get. When talking about carrots, she was the first person who actually agreed with me regarding the moldy taste store purchased carrots have, so I’m sure there are many others who agree, which is why she only purchases the sliced frozen ones. Before leaving, we also had a much needed soulful chat.

After I got back to office, I returned a few calls, and then headed over to one of my favorite vegetable drop-offs, just to ask them if they wanted any more squash, and when I got there and asked, I was told they’d take at least 10 or more, so I went and picked up a basketful and delivered them. Since there were a handful of people there, just about all they talked about was how delicious those Brandywine tomatoes were which I’d been randomly delivering. You can bet their words gave me the warmest of feelings to know I’d given them chemical free and organically grown vegetables they couldn’t find anywhere in the stores. I did assure them that I’d be planting even more of them next year, just so I’d have enough to go around. I did do a quick calculation on the three hills of squash I planted which produced the 115+ squash I picked. Believe it or not, if all of them were sold at today’s groceteria prices, there would’ve brought over thousand dollars. Nobody can tell me that if they did it right, they couldn’t make a comfortable living by growing organic fruits and vegetables. The Amish and Mennonites have known this for years.

The bulk of my day was spent getting three listings prepared to go on the market, along with opening up a building for a tradesperson, and about the only memorable happing during that waste of time, was having discovered the term ‘urban miners’ as being something new out of our evolving culture/language which basically means a person or persons who breaks into houses and buildings to strip out copper wiring and electronics. It took my asking three times, to understand what that person was saying, and then I had to ask what it meant. Silly me. It looks like the king’s english is fast become a thing of the past. Just last week I innocently used the word ‘superfluous’ in a sentence, and wouldn’t you know, I got a not so nice glare from a person who thought it meant something completely different, which was one more reminder for me to be more careful when choosing appropriate words whenever in the company of those with limited vocabularies.

Because I’d been ‘poked’ a number of times to make a call to an out of State corporate office, today was my day to find the appropriate department’s number and make the call. Oh my goodness! I couldn’t believe it took me almost an hour to finally make the connection, but after hanging up from a very good conversation with a charming woman who seemed very interested in the information I was offering up, I had this ‘feeling’ I’d been hearing from that corporation in the near future, and if they do call, it’ll be one more reminder for me to follow up on those mental ‘pokes’ I get from time to time. But, on the flip-side of it all, it scares me sometimes when I more than once get ‘pinged’ about something bad happening, which is why this year for the first time, I’ve become even more vocally opinionated over the many political candidates we have running for office, and by now, you’ve been able to read between the lines regarding who I don’t want to get elected the first Tuesday in November. It’s not entirely the person, but more so the path of no return we’ll be taken down, which is why I’m continually hoping for the best while preparing for the worst.

I wanted to vomit today when reading about that pigmy Putin extolling family values while encouraging his ‘people’ to have more children, just so they can be brought up in Orthodox Christian settings, which many of those brain-washed Russians consider to be the gospel according to Putin, yet they’ve forgotten about all the innocent lives that were snuffed out when he ordered the invasion of Ukraine, and especially those hundreds and thousands of children who lost their lives. If you want to talk about someone being the core of evil, he’s it!
