It was definitely a hectic but good day because my morning appointment produced a future listing I’ll be posting next week which should certainly sell quickly considering its location, style and condition. I was touched when the seller mentioned one of the neighbor’s saying how much they enjoyed working with me in the past when hired to sell a home. Yes, referrals do make a difference, which is why I work very hard at doing the absolute best I can for my clients and customers.

After looking at a small section I had painted for several days, I decided the color wasn’t going to work for me, so back to the paint store I went with another color sample, so hopefully the fussy person I am about certain things, will find it acceptable. The clerk mentioned he’d credit back that gallon I didn’t like, but I told him to forget it because I could use it as a base coat, but I did appreciate the offer.

Once all my errands were run, I went back to office and opened up the envelope containing my tax statements, and then added them up and wrote out a check which I walked over to the County Treasurer’s Office to make the payments. Each time I’m there, I kiddingly tell them that I’ll likely have to eat ramen noodles for several months after having to cough-up that giant financial fur-ball. Oh well, there’s nothing we can do other than pay them and move on with our lives. Unfortunately our County Treasurer’s Office now only has two familiar faces working there, and all the rest of them are newbies. Oh my goodness! I can certainly tell the difference in the way in which they wait on the general public, and for sure they certainly don’t know any better, and likely no one’s there to teach them any different. I guess what really grinds on me, is the fashion in which many of our elderly are treated, and normally it’s not good. Unfortunately most don’t realize a great number of our seniors have more ‘upstairs’ than one would ever imagine, which is why I treat them with the respect they deserve. Yes, there’s always either a biddy or old duffer thrown in the mix, but that’s always to be expected.

I received a touching message from Jenn Pope this afternoon regarding her having used some veggies I’d gifted her in the cooking class she held last evening. She even sent a photo of what she made, which definitely looked yummy. There’s no question she puts her heart and soul into whatever she does, which is why I continue to wish her the absolute best with her business which is right next door to my office. Oh, by the way, the name of her company is ‘Roots’, so if you’re a bit curious about what she has to offer, look her up on either Facebook or go check out her website. As I was walking out of the Courthouse this afternoon, one of her ‘students’ of last night, actually stopped to thank me for what I’d gifted. Now that soulful remark ended up being the highlight of my day.

Since the owners have now moved out, I decided it was time to pay another visit to 113 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs, as it was time to update the home’s interior photos, so I grabbed my camera and headed over. The owners were there to greet me, so we had a nice chat before I proceeded to get the photos I needed, but before I left town, I drove a short distance to their ‘Old Mill Pond’ city park where I stopped and took a photo of a section of it. I just love that walking bridge they had installed which offers fabulous views of the Shell Rock River which is actually part of ‘Old Mill Pond’. Considering the many amenities and natural beauty Nora Springs has to offer, it came as no surprise when finding more people wanting to move there.

The above photo is of the pond, and if you’d like to take a gander at the new interior photos I took of 113 N. Hawkeye, click on the main photo and a slideshow will begin.
