It ended up being quite the memorable day with the number of unexpected events which had taken place, and in spite of my seething within over something that happened, I did manage to contain it and continue moving on with my day. Regardless of what my opinion would’ve been, keeping my mouth shut regarding something I had no control over, was the best advice I could offer myself.
I’m back on the seek and find for a modest yet relatively maintenance-free home that would sell for under $110K. It doesn’t have to have all the bells and whistles, but my buyer would prefer at least two bedrooms, a garage and a standard-sized yard, so if you know of anyone owning a small bungalow or a 1950’s ranch who’s thinking about selling, please have them give me a call because my buyer is ready to pull the trigger.
When reading the news early this morning, I was happy to find those alt-right wing radicals weren’t able to get enough votes to be the majority in France. I’m sure Putin was angry over his favorite little minion Marine Le Pen and her alt-right followers were shot down in the last round of voting. Thank goodness the general public in France finally came to their senses.
I really don’t know what’s going on with so many people in these countries including our own who seem to be yearning for dictatorial rule. We’ve got that crazy Orban in Hungary, Fico in Slovakia and Putin in Russia who all seem to be licking out of the same saucer. Now how could any head of State have any respect for a man who invaded another sovereign country and started a war that’s lasted far too long, and to think of the hundreds of thousands of innocent lives having been lost over it, and that crazy devil is still in power. I mentioned to a client earlier today how certain I am such a person in the end, will pay dearly for what he freely and willing did.
I received a call from my brother who owns 118 N. Federal today saying he’s ready to place it on the open market, and after visiting about pricing, he’s decided to list it at $129,500.00 which I believe is a fair price considering the amount of money that was spent on the roof and exterior, along with the number of hours it took to get its interior looking more open and airy.
With it being so close to Central Park and the Historic Park Inn Hotel, I’m confident there’ll be someone willing to purchase it and turn it into either a bistro, a restaurant, a pub, a bakery, or possibly even a delicatessen which I believe would go over very well because there’s not one place in our Downtown where someone can go and buy take-away food. I took two shots of the exterior which I’m using as tonight’s photos, so click on it and you’ll see the second.
If anyone is really into historical buildings in this town, there’s no question 118 N. Federal dates back to the early 1870’s, and from what I read in the original abstract, it appears to have been built in 1871, and just as a confirmation, I know there was a photo taken in 1874 that shows it fully built, so there you are. Now truthfully, how many business owners in this town can say their building is 153 years old. What I like the most about it, are the maple floors and tin ceilings which are sky-high. Do put the work out, and watch for it to hit all the real estate feeds tomorrow.
While in conversation with another long-time resident, we ended up on the subject of how willfully the ‘powers that be’ in our City have wasted millions of dollars of our taxpayers’ money over this past decade, and still doing it. Of course I had to interject by adding it’s pretty much the norm with the growing number of those with the mentality that if they personally didn’t earn the money they’re spending, then it’s all the easier to ‘iss’ it away as fast as they can, and believe me, I’ve seen it happen time and time again within the cross-cut of our society. I’m sure you’ve known enough beneficiaries over these years who’ve blown every cent they inherited, and still believing they deserved more. I’m sorry to say I’ve crossed paths with far too many of them as well.
Tonight’s One-liner is: Leadership is more about clarity than it is about control.
