Knowing it was gonna be another cold one today, I layered myself enough this morning, just so I wouldn’t be feeling the chill as much as I was yesterday, and it worked. Of course I wasn’t the least bit happy to find snow starting to fall as it was approaching the hour of five. Oh well, we’re past Thanksgiving and almost out of the month of November, so it’s all to be expected.
Most of my morning was filled with deskwork and making phone calls, and once I had everything up to date, I head back to my computer to get all the news fully read. It came as a bit of a surprise when seeing an obituary in the paper of a man related by marriage to one of my siblings having passed. After reading it, I’d say he had a good long life. Having never personally seen him, his photo definitely showed a close resemblance to the one that married into our family.
My dear friend had mentioned something about having subscribed to YouTube News, so I went on their site, and just so happened to find a video I fully watched, and I was so much in agreement with the speaker’s words, I felt it necessary to share the link with all of you. Once you’ve watched it, I’m sure your wavering opinions on what’s going on in Palestine, will be more solidified.

Another article I’m sharing the link to, is one that was published by Deutsche Welle which contains an interview with a 96 year old Ukrainian woman who survived the famine Stalin purposely created in Ukraine back in the early 1930’s. Everyone thinks Hitler was responsible for the most death in modern times, but in actuality, it was Stalin hands down.

Over the years, I’ve done enough reading about what took place in Ukraine in those years, and to this day, I still can’t get my brain wrapped around how one person could be so evil. What’s been troubling me lately, is reading where pigmy Putin is resurrecting monuments to Stalin, which is likely being done to legitimize the war he’s created in Ukraine. The bulk of Russia’s older population have been so propagandized over they years, they’re almost totally brainwashed, and to think our ex-president admires Putin. For what dare I ask?
All I can say is, our country along with the European Union had best remain steadfast in helping Ukraine win Putin’s war of aggression, because there’s no doubt he’ll be trying to take back all those countries that were part of the old Soviet Union. When visiting with a very fine mind some months ago, I fully agreed with her thoughts when saying it’ll likely take more than one generation of real freedom, for the Russians to fully understand the differences between democracies and dictatorships.
Once I had myself filled with all the news, I changed my clothes and went back over to my little/big project, just so I could continue on with another daunting project which I placed on the back burner, just so I could get what I managed to finish up on several days ago before it started getting really cold.
As much as I didn’t want to get back at it again, I had to give myself another pep talk, just as a reminder that if I don’t keep at it, it’ll drag on all the longer, which was enough to get me started again. Luckily after three hours had passed, I was back into the swing of things, so it should be fine from here on out.
One of the positives about working alone for hours, is having the opportunity to get some deep thinking done, along with walking down a few memory lanes which sometimes create happy thoughts, and others, not so happy. Every time I come back from going down one of those dark paths, I’m quick to remind myself that from bad things, come good things, as long as we look and then reach for them.
I had two late afternoon appointments to show homes, and the first one being 1715 N. Delaware, and after the buyer got a good look at it, I had a ‘feeling’ he may be making an offer on it, and for sure it’ll be a good fit for him because he’ll no longer have to be driving a great distance to and from work, and since it’s just him, that home would be more than big enough.
My second showing was to yet another single person who’s looking for something that’s ready to move into, and from what he was seeing, I’d say it would be a near-perfect fit. He mentioned several times how much he liked it, so hopefully he’ll have a good sleep on it and give me a call on Monday. Yes, in spite of today’s weather, I felt both of those showings were good ones.
I keep forgetting to mention some information a friend of mine shared with me several days ago, which had to do with the amount of food that goes to waste in our country. If what was told me is true, we’ve got a huge problem, because according to him, forty percent of our food goes to waste, which begins in the factories where everything has got to be picture perfect, or it gets dumped.
If you didn’t know, many of our fast food restaurants are sending un-sold food to their dumpsters, along with households who buy way too much food, and refuse to put their leftovers to good use, because I personally know a number of people who absolutely will not hold leftovers over for another meal. It’s no wonder we have a bloated population of raccoons living in our midst, and only because they’re eating all that food that’s been set out in bags at our curbsides. For me, willful waste of food, is sinful.
