In spite of having a full day of sun, that north wind turned it into a biting-cold day, and especially if you weren’t in an area protected against it. I was glad to have not had any reason to be outdoors for a given length of time.
Once I had my Sunday morning prayer session completed, I went to the phone and called my dear friend whom I’d not visited with in over a week. I was sad to hear there’ll likely be another passing in her family, and from the sounds of it, that old saying about death coming in 3’s, has more truth to it than not. Not but two days ago, a member of another family mentioned exactly the same thing had recently happened in his, and yes, it’s also happened in mine over the years. We had much to talk about today, but unfortunately I had to cut my call short because I had to get prepared for my organ playing session over at First Congregational Church. Our little chats have always been informative, as well as uplifting.
I arrived at the church just as one of the members was unlocking its doors, and since he was available, I did mention something about starting a small choir which we both agreed would be an additional inducement for those who like to be more active in a church’s Services.
Having arrived early enough, I ran thru the pieces I was given to play, along with a handful of others which I thought appropriate for our Lenten Season. My official prelude was ‘Abide With Me’ which I thought sounded much better after having grown more accustomed to their organ’s stops. I was thankful for not having made any glaring mistakes while playing, other than having seated myself improperly to where I didn’t have my feet positioned in the right places when I went to play an introduction. Oh well, I don’t think it was as noticeable to those in attendance, as it was for me.
After their Services were over, one of the members came up and thanked me for playing today, but I had to have the last word by replying, “I’m definitely falling in love with your organ.”, which was the truth. I did mention my having played a good half dozen pipe organs over the years, but theirs is by far the best sounding, along with the fine acoustics the structure of their church offers. It was all good.
Just after I arrived back at office, I received a call from one of my sellers who wanted me to stop over and look at the finishing touches on their home which I managed to sell right out of the gates. Thank goodness I had time to run over, and before I walked out the door, I grabbed a sold sign to place in their yard.
Once I had the full tour, I could see they’re well on their way to having everything completed before closing date. After seeing it nearly completely finished from top to bottom, I could even more see myself living there, because it has all the features I’ve always been draw to which is a circle floor plan, oodles of natural light, a front porch, a raised elevation, pleasant views, and in walking distance to our Downtown. There’s no question the new owner is going to enjoy living there for years to come.
Upon my second return to office, I returned a phone call that came in, along with alerting a buyer that the home I was supposed to show him this afternoon, ended up selling this morning, so that was another cancellation. After this being the fourth fast sale in two weeks, I’m beginning to wonder if our market is ever going to settle down like it’s been doing in our metro areas. What’s likely keeping it chugging along, is the lack of inventory.
As chance would have it, one of my old friends from out East called, and since I’d not communicated with him in almost two months, we ended up having a very long visit which lasted well over an hour. Having know him for a very long time, I mentioned again today how both his family and mine, have traveled parallel paths, and so much so, it gets a bit creepy when thinking about it. I could tell he was a bit down today, but hopefully our extended chat helped to pull him out of the blues.
One of the articles in today’s paper caught my eye, so I gave it a good read, and after finishing it, I could feel my blood starting to boil. The author, whose name is Steve Corbin, has been for years, deeply involved in our National political circles, and whenever he writes something, I give it a good read.
The subject of his article was about all the many Republicans currently holding or seeking political offices who’re pro-Putin, while others are broadcasting their support of Russia’s aggression, and those include, Steen Bannon, Tucker Carlson (Fox News), Ron DeSantis, Michael Flynn, Nick Fuentas, Laura Ingraham (Fox News), Charlie Kirk (Turning Point USA), Our House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Rep. Mary Miller, Peter Navarro, Candice Owens (Daily Wire) Rep. Scott Perry, Erick Prince (Blackwater), Wendy Rogers, Rep. Matt Rosendale, Roger Stone, Donald Trump, Jr., Donald J. Trump, and Senator J.D. Vance, who should all be shamed into oblivion.
Independent sources have revealed that the Kremlin has deployed disinformation themes and tactics to weaken US support for Kyiv with the help from conservative media figures, and some Republicans in Congress. The think tanks which track disinformation propaganda have noted that social media platforms like Parler, Rumble, Gab and Odysee have increasingly been used to spread Russian falsehoods, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Scott Perry, Paul Gossar, along with Tucker Carlson and Steven Bannon. Such activities is playing right into the hands of those countries which want our great United of States to fall from within, so please loudly speak out against such self-promoting lies.
