A home for all Seasons

531 4th st. SESeveral days ago I listed a home in the River Heights area of Mason City. That particular older district is unique in that it is in nearly the center of the city yet isolated enough that it doesn’t get the heavier traffic usually associated with residential blocks close to business districts. For over forty years my grandmother lived in that district and she loved it. She could walk to church, library and downtown if she wanted. Nearly all of the homes show pride in ownership and it is generally a friendly neighborhood. The home itself is an early 1900s two story with the most delightful front porch. I can remember very well the previous owner spending many summer evenings on that porch.

What makes this home attractive to all ages is that is has a bedroom, full bath and laundry room on the main floor. There are three more bedrooms upstairs with another bath. The old windows have been replaced by newer thermal windows, there is permanent siding, updated furnace and central air, and a guest friendly kitchen featuring a breakfast bar and garden window. There is a two stall garage that enters from a paved alley. Every time I have a chance to be in that area, I stop my car and walk over the footbridge that crosses over Willow Creek. The views are spectacular! The River Heights area has always been one of my favorites because I like to walk and there is so much to see. Click on the link below and take a look at my new listing.
