Now that the winds have finally calmed down, our outdoor chores won’t be as distressing. I’m very much looking forward to enjoying the coming summer as much as possible, and hopefully before then, the researchers will have finally come up with some sort of alluring trap to capture those nasty biting gnats. I can endure mosquitos any day of the week, but not those devils. I’m still convinced they’ve migrated down from Canada and all due to climate change and global warming.
After some thorough reviewing of the file, I’m now fully readied for tomorrow’s closing which was a long time coming. That particular home will go down in my history book as one which should’ve sold right out of the gates, but unfortunately the buyer for it was late on arrival.
I did finally make time to get an appointment made for a long-overdue hair cut, and believe me, I was getting to the point where I didn’t even want to look at myself in the mirror. Since the person who was cutting my hair, seemed to be on the chatty side, I ended up talking about how strange it is that most men in these times, really don’t take care of their hair, and especially their facial hair, and what gets me the most, is seeing all these guys running around with what I refer to as ‘neck beards’, and if you don’t know what they are, just think about it for a bit, and the next time you see a guy with one, you’ll go, “Ah ha! Now I know what Joe was talking about.” Pretty disgusting aren’t they? I think perhaps the reason I’m just a bit more particular about the way I look in public, is how often my mother would say, “How you look on the outside, is a reflection of how you feel about yourself on the inside.”, and for the most part, I believe she was correct.
I finally managed to force myself to get back at my end of the month accounting, and then proceed on to writing out some checks to our State and Federal governments for the taxes I owed for this past year. Yes, I had to cough up another financial fur-ball again, and this time around, I’m all the more disgusted about it because of all these ‘crazies’ we have in our State and Federal governments. Regardless of what they’re telling us, there’ll be more waste of taxpayers money than ever before.
Another peeve I have, has to do with this game our POTUS is playing with our financial markets, and today was a glaring example when he ‘tweeted’ early this morning that it’s time to buy stock, so what did he later do? He lifted the bulk of those tariffs and the stock market bounced back with a vengeance. Now it doesn’t take a financial genius to figure out what dirty inside dealings were going on before and after those were placed and then lifted, because most of our general public don’t know much our anything about options which is where investors can make a whole heck of a lot of money in a very short time because you can place bets that a given stock is going to go down in a given time frame, and then place bets that it’ll go up in another time frame. If I’m not mistaken, Warren Buffet himself mentioned something a number of years ago about how much he disliked the options market, and in a number of ways, I can understand why.
Oh boy! I sure got a good look at a number of eighteen wheelers heading toward our soybean plant today, which is telling me those farmers who were holding beans, are ‘yell-bent’ on unloading their inventory before the prices drop all the more.
What I believe to be the most curious, is knowing a great percentage of our Nation’s farmers who were considered MAGA supporters, and most of them living in the deep red States, yet these unbelievably high tariffs our POTUS has placed on China, is directly affecting those farmers in a very bad way, and if he doesn’t back off on them, there’ll be a whole heck of a lot of them in deep financial trouble. Hey, I just remembered, our Vice President J.D. Vance was involved in a company that buys and sells farms to investors. Hmm…I’m now wondering if J.D. was doing a little whispering in our POTUS’s ear.
We had another showing over at Prairie Place on 1st this afternoon, and by the time we were finished, I walked away with the belief there was some good interest shown by the buyers. From what I gathered, the agent representing those buyers had another condo to show them afterwards. I had this ‘feeling’ the buyers and agent were somehow related.
Late this afternoon, an elderly past client stopped by simply to see how things have been with me. We sat and visited for a good half hour, and after she walked out, I began thinking about some of the things she had to say regarding what’s going on in our State and Federal governments, which seem to mirror much of what other elderly people have said, and it’s beginning to look like many of them are very concerned but really don’t want to follow it more closely, and only because it gets them stirred up, which I fully understand. Why should those people who’ve worked hard all their lives, raised their families and now trying to enjoy the years they have left on this planet, have to be fretting over things which in the past, were a given? How terribly sad.
