Chronic Cases Of Stupidity

Thank goodness the temps were on the rise today, along with the absence of that biting northwest wind we’ve been having to endure for days on end. In spite of it being in the mid-twenties while driving to office this morning, it ended up in the mid-fifties by the time I called it quits this afternoon.

I had some text messages which came in late last night which I promptly responded to, and after getting myself situated for the day, I proceeded to get quieted down enough to where I was able to fulfill my spiritual duties which for me, is my top propriety every Sunday morning. As nearly always, I felt spiritually and mentally invigorated once completed, and good to go for another week.

With today’s weather being more tolerable, I decided it was time to get some much-needed yard work done which had me engaged up until the Noon hour. A great deal was accomplished, but there’s much more to be done before everything starts greening-up. Before switching gears, I stopped and purchased something light from Taco Bell which I had at office for lunch, and before heading to my afternoon project, I decided to get some additional news read.

After listening to several of Senator Adam Shiff’s short speeches, I’m all the more convinced the bulk of our general public hasn’t a clue regarding those trillion dollar tax breaks Congress is hell-bent on giving the multi-millionaires and billionaires, and of course the difference is going to made up by all the gutting of Federal institutions including Medicare, Medicaid and likely in the end, Social Security as well. Because most of near-retirement citizens aren’t paying close attention to the changes being made, which include additional verifications, along with grossly-extended wait times, they’re all gonna have crude awakenings when they go to file. Of course our POTUS and his entourage of sycophants insist these many changes are all for the common good of Americans. How naive do they think us to be? I personally believe the bulk of the Republicans in Congress are suffering from chronic cases of stupidity, along with having lost what little critical forward-thinking abilities they once possessed.

I paid particular attention to video of an ordained Evangelical pastor who began seeing changes in the mindsets of his congregation, which all started back during Trump’s first term, and as much as he attempted to relay Christ’s messages from the pulpit, his words seemed to fall on deaf ears, and during this most recent Presidential campaign period, his flock was exhibiting even more signs of Christian Nationalism, which ended up being the last straw, and soon after he submitted his letter of resignation, he felt as if a huge millstone had been lifted from around his neck. Good for him. I’m sure his story was legit because I could see the emotional/spiritual hurt rising as he spoke. He did say something about wishing from the get go, he would’ve lovingly insisted they stop watching Fox News on a daily basis. “Amen” I say to that one!

The bulk of my afternoon was spent quietly working over at my project which had me diligently working away at a tedious and detailed chore which I was hoping to get completed before I had to head home, but fussy me was once again being overly particular, so I finally quit for the day with about another hour’s work that’ll be waiting for me to finish. Likely much of the reason I pay closer attention to detail, is having seen hundreds of sloppy jobs done by those who think they know what they’re doing. Hopefully our future buyers will no longer be falling head over heel for those nasty lipsticked pigs.

Tonight’s One-liner is: Instead of worrying about what people say of you, why not spend a little extra time trying to accomplish something they’ll admire?
