Even after the skies cleared this morning, the wind continued to blow out of the northwest with a vengeance which lasted the entire day, so hopefully it will go down with the sun and we’ll be free of it tomorrow.
After getting some time-sensitive desk work done early this morning, I headed over to my computer and got caught up on all the news feeds, and what had me troubled the most, was how much the stock market has dropped since our POTUS’s ‘Independence Day’. I watched a short clip of one of his pre-election promises, which was saying if the stock market dropped over 1,600 points, he wouldn’t be worthy of being in office, and now he’s flipped over to one of his ingenious mental news channels and now saying it’s good that the market is tanking. As much as people are trying to figure him out, I believe it’s impossible because from what I’ve been seeing and hearing of late, I believe he’s nothing more than a figurehead for those who’re pushing thru Project 2025. In my opinion, I find him unable to comprehend the gravity of his teeter-tottering words and actions.
My morning appointment was to show for the second time, a home in one of our surrounding communities which in my estimation, is grossly overpriced, and thank goodness the buyers gave it an even closer look because they’ve now come to agree that it’s in need of some repairs and improvements due to deferred maintenance. Of course with all of this rain, there was water in its basement. After being there a good hour, I’d say they’re now fully up to speed regarding the true market value of the home. I’m sure they’ll be calling me the first of the week to schedule an appointment to make an offer on it.
When I arrived back in the city, it was nearing the time for me to meet-up with the sellers of a home that’s closing later next week, just so they could get all the transfer docs signed ahead of time, and not have to take time off work to be in attendance. That’ll be one more fine home that sold for less than I believed it was worth, but in these tumultuous times, there’s really no set pricing standards.
After they left, I bundled myself up and headed over to Central Park to attend that ‘Hand’s Off’ rally, and when I got there, I was delighted to find far more people in attendance than I would’ve imagined, and likely a good 500 or more. As I suspected, there were a number of people there whom I’d done business with over the years, and as chance would have it, one of them handed me a sign that read, ‘Protect Social Security’, so I raised it up every time all the others raised there signs which had various demands written on them. I did stay the entire time those various speakers were talking, but since that wind had me about frozen, I decided not to include myself in their march down to the intersection of two highways. I did take a few photos which include tonight’s main photo, so click on it and you’ll see the rest of them.
Before heading over to my project to get some work done, I ran into that young woman again whom I’ve been insisting she run against Ashley Hinson in the mid-terms, and happy to at least hear she’s been doing some of her own investigating. I know there’s no guarantees in life other than taxes and death, but I’m nearly certain she’d beat Ashley, and only because she’s intelligent, she majored in Political Science in college, definitely not one who beats around the bush, remarkably good-looking, a business person, as well as having a mellow alto voice. So wouldn’t you say she’d have a good chance of un-seating Hinson? Well, I most definitely believe she’s got the ability, and I’d most definitely support her 101%. I’ll wager after the mid-term elections are over, we’ll be seeing a great many MAGA politicians being defeated, and mostly because our general public has finally come to realize that nearly all of the elected Republicans are suffering from cognitive dissonance, and only because they’ve not got the guts to step up to the plate and say, “I’ll not be a part of this MAGA mania any longer.” Nope, there’ll be feeling a bit sorry for them if should happen.
The remainder of my afternoon was spent working over at my project, and after a good two and a half hours of intense labor, I called it quits for the day.
Tonight’s One-liner is: Each nation feels superior to other nations, which breeds patriotism and sometimes wars.
