They’re Not Smart, Clever or Even Good-Looking

Gosh, I sure wish these gray skies and cold temps will move-along, because we are in the official zone of Spring, so our dear Mother Nature had better start acting like it because it’s nearing the time for the cold crops to get planted, yet it’s still too chilly to even think about it.

Most of my morning was spent following up on the two closings that are supposed to be taking place later next week, along with sending out several emails to relatives of people who recently passed. I did get a response back from one of them which made me a little sad, so some time in the near future, I’ll have to place a call to that dear lady. I can imagine what it must feel like when finding oneself being the last living person out of a larger than normal family, and left with nothing more than memories which can’t even be shared.

My early afternoon pre-listing appointment went very well, and glad the seller is now pretty much on the same page in regards to pricing, which in these times is exceptionally important. I was compelled to share a fact that just in these past seven days, there’ve been twenty or more price reductions posted in our MLS, and now that our POTUS has negatively affected our stock market with his idiotic tariffs, I’m afraid we’ll be seeing even more reductions in the coming days. Yes, after that home gets listed, I’m confident it won’t be on the market very long at all.

I was slightly miffed when finding a tradesperson had not answered an important question I asked, and then later, giving me a ‘limp-tailed’ excuse about not having seen it. Really? When visiting with a seller today, I couldn’t help saying how I’ve come to understand that once my hair started turning gray, I suddenly became a weak-minded person who could easily be swayed by someone younger. I did get a good laugh out of her response which I dare not openly share.

As I suspected, an offer came in on my listing over at 1153 Eastmoor Drive this afternoon, so as of right now, the sellers have verbally accepted it, and before the sun rises in the morning, I’ll have the hardcopy of it in my possession. I’m confident the sale will go thru, and hopefully the new buyer will continue on with special care that home has had since it was built. I couldn’t help saying to someone today that if I were given the choice as to what street I would live on in the Bel Air Addition, my only choice would be Eastmoor Drive, and only because it is one of the least travelled.

It looks like I’ll be back on the road again to meet some buyers for their second viewing of a home that’s in a small town near us, and as much as I’ve counseled them about its price and over-all condition, it appears they’re gonna want to make an offer on it if it still meets their expectations. Yes, I’ve been known to take on some pretty ‘interesting’ listings and sales over these years, but at least I’ve come to be more vocal regarding my personal opinions, so as long as I’ve freely shared my thoughts and they continue moving forward, I can do anything more that run with their wishes.

After watching some videos which had to do with past statements by our POTUS and his followers prior to the elections, and then seeing what has taken place since then within our Federal and State governments, I’m starting to agree with an old colleague of mine who recently said, “Those MAGA voters aren’t smart, clever, or even good-looking, but rather just plain and simply dumb.”

Oh boy, I can for sure tell you there’s a group of people right here in North Iowa, who I know fell for his lies hook, line and sinker, and likely never want to cross paths with me because they’re still aware I gave them fair warning, as well as knowing my warnings were falling on deaf ears. You may not believe me, but there are people in this city whom you’d likely consider very intelligent characters, but really not, because in my mind they’re all neo-savants who’ve specialized in one particular field or other, yet have never been out in the ‘ditches’ of the real world. Truth be told, I not so long ago challenged one of them regarding the fact of never being out in the trenches to see the other side of those who’d arrived at that ‘tribal’ office for a given service.

I’ll certainly not forget the very few times I’d become harsh with greedy and self-centered individuals who’d regularly prey on our overly-trusting general public. Believe it or not, I was once told by one of that group’s ‘regulars’, “Well, if that so-and-so was stupid enough to be taken advantage of, then it was their fault for allowing me to do it.” Yes, this is why such mindsets don’t even bother to darken my office door because they know I want no part of their plans. I’m afraid it’s gonna get worse since our elections and subsequent appointments of some pretty shady characters. Shame on all of them!

Tonight’s One-liner is: It’s always important, when we experience injustice in this nation, that people in power understand that we will not take that injustice quietly.
