Couldn’t Buy Or Replicate

My morning and early afternoon had me switched into high gear from the moment I arrived at office, and thankfully I managed to make it to every appointment on time, along with making sure everyone’s requests were addressed. Unfortunately, I ended up having to cancel a Noon meeting, and only because I was tied up with issues needing my immediate attention. Thank goodness the person was understanding enough to where we rescheduled it for tomorrow.

Another very good showing took place today on my listing over at Prairie Place on 1st, so as of now, it appears we’ve got three separate buyers circling and another prospect scheduled for a viewing this week, so hopefully one of them will be its new owner. I’m of the belief that many in our senior community have finally come to realize that Prairie Place on 1st, is the preferred place to be in Mason City. As I mentioned earlier today, considering how the costs of goods and materials have risen since that complex was built, it would be nearly impossible to build a structure of such quality in today’s market.

A contractor whom I’ve known for a great many years, stopped by to drop off a bill, and while at office, he mentioned how ‘quirky’ many in the general public have become since the first of the year, and so much so, we both came to the conclusion that it’s radiating into nearly everyone’s lives. Just yesterday someone mentioned having the feeling that she’s living in a surrealistic world. I dare say yesterday was one which had me near metaphysically drained by the time I arrived home.

When in conversation with a very hard working young gentlemen today about how some who’re decades older than him, go around gloating over their accomplishments and wealth they’d amassed, just to make those who’re younger, left feeling far below such ranks. I then went on to say, “Back when I was your age, and someone was making me feel like a peon, I’d end up agreeing with that person on all points, but then add the fact that I was still in possession of my youth, which of course those older braggarts couldn’t buy or replicate, and only because there is no fountain of youth–yet.” Yes, back then when someone would start pushing my buttons, I’d nearly always walk away with one of those ‘gotcha’ smiles.

I did finally manage to have time to go out and get my car washed, and of course we just had to have a light sprinkling of rain this afternoon. When I stepped outside while it was coming down, I swear the air smelled just like Spring.

My late afternoon appointment was a second showing of a home to a buyer I’ve been working with, and this time the parents were along. We must’ve spent a good hour looking things over again, and from what I was hearing, the parents seemed on the receptive side, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Fortunately I didn’t have even the slightest sense of exhaustion when I arrived home tonight, so that zapping of my energy, must’ve taken place while I was inside that really icky-sticky house yesterday afternoon. Like I’ve mentioned before, there are structures and sites that radiate some really bad juju, and considering the dysfunction I found while there, it was definitely a candidate for a good sage smudging.

Nearly everyone I spoke with today, had something to say about the goings on in our Federal Government, along with that unfortunate loss of lives in Washington D.C due to the collision of a passenger jet and military helicopter. Of course the blame game started soon after. As I’ve been mentioning more often than not, all we can do is prepare for the worst while hoping for the best. It troubled me greatly when hearing about our Federal workers being offered buyouts which sounded more like corporate employee buyouts, just so they can install more computers to do their jobs and in turn, make all the more money at our expense. Gosh, I sure hate talking to those computers.
