There’s no question this has been quite the remarkable day in many ways, so if we should all wake up tomorrow morning and hear of some extraordinary events taking place in Russia, it will come as no surprise to me, and only because one of my friends who’s been following some of those YouTube broadcasters living in Russia, just today he shocked to hear the YouTuber saying all hell has broken loose in Russia, and only because that crazy Yevgeny Prigozhin who’s the head of The Wagner group, has declared war on the Russian military, because he claims one of the Russian generals bombed an area where he and his troops were stationed, so hold onto your seats, because right now, there’s likely an attempted coup taking place in Russia.
The information that YouTuber’s been getting from others in Russia, is that all the major cities including Moscow has been shut down to the point where even the internet has be cut, the roads have been blocked, and military vehicles arriving from all directions. And if it’s true, The Wagner Group just marched into Rostov and the Russian soldiers defending that city, laid their weapons down and allowed them to pass as they were heading in the direction of Moscow. It sounds like the Kremlin is in such a panic, they can’t even find Putin, who’s likely already on a plane with his family, and heading in the direction of a ‘Putin friendly’ African country.
If indeed a coup is taking place, then this will be the moment for the Ukrainian army to move forward and strike at lightening speed, those Russian-held territories, and if they do, there’s a very strong chance the Ukrainian people will have regained all their lost territories, and that would include Crimea. Unfortunately, there’s gonna be a vacuum created in Russia no matter who ends up winning. Since I’ve been closely following the war in Ukraine from the very beginning, I’m afraid Prigozhin is just as bad as Putin, so perhaps they’ll destroy each other in the process, because the both of them have their hands covered with the blood of thousands of innocent people. If Ukraine prevails, then my daily prayers will have been answered, and I will be eternally thankful and grateful. Keep a close watch on the news feeds later tonight and tomorrow morning.
Should Ukraine regain all of its territories, then there had better be a fast-track process for Ukraine to be admitted to NATO, which would even more guarantee a lasting peace for the Ukrainians. After that, there should also be another fast-track acceptance for Ukraine to become a part of the European Union.
Now let’s not forget about Belarus which has been wrongfully held hostage by another one of Putin’s puppets, so if Putin’s out, then I wouldn’t be surprised if there’ll be a coup taking place in Belarus as well, because Lukashenko’s brutal response to those non-violent protests over his rigged election, has not been forgotten by the people of Belarus. The only reason he managed to stay in power, was Putin having sent in his ‘unmarked’ soldiers to help put a stop to it all. I dare say, the last half of 2023 is gonna be filled with surprises for all of us.
On another note, I did watch that ‘groundbreaking’ of the apartment building that’s being built at the corner of N. Federal and 2nd Street, and after doing a little research of my own, I found that the guy who’s likely in charge of the project for the company he’s a director of, is 38 years old, and part of the company called, DevPartners which has offices in Des Moines and another one in Ohio. When I went on their website, they showed an architect’s rendition of what it’ll look like, but on the bottom it said there’d be only five units, instead of the eleven we’ve been reading about.
I clipped and pasted the following statement about their company, “We engage in projects and develop partnerships with investors through a capital raising process, then operate the asset for a set hold period. The projects earn cash flow while we hold the properties (years 1-6) and then we’ll look to sell the portfolio after the hold period. Buyers find this valuable because we’ve done all the hard work of finding, developing, designing, renovating, and stabilizing these properties.” If I’m reading this correctly, they’re the short term middle-people for corporate and possibly off-shore investors, which means we’ll have another ‘absentee’ landlord in our City, right along with those two ‘River’ projects. I’ll have to do some deep reflecting on the direction our rental market is taking here in ‘River City’ before I offer up my opinion.
Since I was on KGLO’s website, I happened to notice Rob Sand was here yesterday for a Town Hall meeting, which I heard nothing about. My Gosh! What’s wrong with our local news feeds? They should’ve notified our residents of his planned visit, and only because I truly admire him and the work he’s done for our State. Now if there’s any rising political star in the confined borders of our State, I’d say Rob Sand would make a fine Governor, and only because I’m confident he truly believes in upholding the rights and interests of the average citizens of our State. I was at one of his Town Hall meetings once before, and walked away very much impressed. Until today, I did not realize Governor Reynolds hired an independent company by the name of ‘Odyssey’ to manage the private school funding. Oh my goodness, I can already see mis-management written all over it.
With my having arrived at office very early, I noticed a YouTube link in my email from a client, and since she normally doesn’t send me anything unless it’s truly worth watching, I opened it and sat thru its entirety. The video happened to be an interview with one the world’s top psychiatrists who’s lectured at numerous colleges and universities in our Country and around the world.
The more I listened to him, the more I believed he really has his ‘shite’ together, and in spite of the many inspiring words he had, there were several which really hit home for me. He insisted that people can’t help people when there’s an impasse of communication between two people, which is why he insists that you can’t talk if you don’t listen.
Another subject which was a head-on for me, was when he mentioned that true and upright people, have no license to alter in a mean-spirited way, the destinies of others. Oh, how true those words were, and only because I’ve seen it happening over and over, and in these times, it appears to be happening more even moreso. When you step back and take a closer look at the ways in which people tear each other down, only to make themselves look better, you’ll soon discover it’s become so commonplace, you almost don’t recognize it. Such behavior in these times, has become the rule, rather than the exception. How regrettable is that?
If you’re interested in watching his interview, I’ve attached the link below. I’m sure you’ll find it as illuminating as I did.
